Discover Manufacturing Week: a coordinated, regional effort to address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors to the community.
MiCareerQuest: a regional, hands-on career exploration event that brings more than 8,000 middle and high school students together to learn about careers through interactive exhibits and conversation with industry professionals.
Industry Led Collaborative: a collaborative training program based on manufacturer needs in the region of West Michigan.
Career Pathways Development: a project to develop a model for career pathways in the manufacturing industry that works effectively at the intersection of the demand-side and the supply-side of organizations and meets the needs of employers and community partners.
Adopt a School: to provide a repository of best practices and How-To’s to assist both employers and educators in the initial steps to establish a “working” relationship. In other words, helping employers understand the path to engaging with educators and vice-versa.
Parent Engagement: an effort to increase parent engagement in our initiatives to promote manufacturing careers in West Michigan.
Best Practices Seminars: an industry-wide collaborative to share best practices within the manufacturing industry, such as solving problems and recruitment models.
AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Partnership): a partnership between students and AMP partnering employers that provides training and income while earning an Associate Degree in Tooling and Manufacturing or Industrial Maintenance.
Skilled Trades Training Funds (STTF): competitive awards for the development and implementation of employer-responsive training.
Michigan Work Ready Communities (MiWRC): a voluntary initiative that links workforce development to education, aligns economic development needs of communities, matches appropriate applicants to jobs based on skill levels and strengthens and grows businesses in your area.
Expert Tech: an employee development and training company that offers online and classroom instruction from experienced industry professionals who are also certified educators.
GRCC Tassell M-TEC: provides stand long courses, pre-apprenticeship training and group apprenticeship programs.
